conscience may have shifted during flight

yes, i am a skeptic
yes, i am stubborn
yes, i am suspicious
yes, i am easily envious
doesn't really sound like someone who is a genuine enthusiast of love, huh? well in the last year, 3 sets of really good friends have gotten engaged and i've slowly started to come around.

one of the 3, mark and alicia (pictured above) tied the knot this past weekend. supporting their relationship from the beginning and watching it grow and flourish... i couldn't be farther from envious. i finally get what the all the hoopla is about. yes, please have 3 bridal, engagement, bachelor parties, i WANT to throw gifts as you! i support this relationship and your life decisions so whole heartedly that i want to do whatever i can to make your life easier!

i also spent a day chaperoning beth (of beth and andy) while she explored reception sites for their big day. many suspicions were made including the hidden costs of caterers and the unpredictable weather of milwaukee in october. one suspicion that was NOT made was the ability of that ambitious woman to do the leg work of the endeavor by herself while her lovely fiance is 'studying abroad' in afghanistan. who wants to spend trans-atlantic skype dates talking about table runners?

b.notes & a.pants

the 3rd set are my dear friends megan and sundeep. society is often skeptical when two people of different religious backgrounds come together. how are they going to raise their children, what is the foundation of their marriage going to be based on? i don't know you idiots.. how about LOVE?! how about they base their marriage on love... raise their children with love?!

what love looks like

although some traits of mine were subsided as i stepped off the plane, i was too hard headed to let go of all my vices, so 'stubborn' still remains. that being said... i think i'll get married when congress gets its act together and lets all my gay friends get married first.

this pretty much sums up the weekend.
