my golden birthday was a HUGE success!!!

afternoon naps

and to wrap it all up, there was a delicious family dinner on sunday including my four legged nephew, bacchus, and AMAZING chocolate amaretto cupcakes from my wonderful soon-to-be sister-in-law (more on that exciting new later!)

REMEMBER WHEN I HAD A BLOG?

i'm bringing it back, just like sexy... actually probably more like, 'oh, that looks nice'. so let's reeeeeeeeeewind. right after thanksgiving a friend from work and i learned we had all this paid time off that we had to use by the end of 2011. so we closed our eyes and pointed to a map and ended up planing a last minute trip to the west coast. and by last minute i mean, in the span of 12 days we totaled our hours, begged our boss to let us take off at the same time, bought plane tickets, booked a hotel room, coordinated transportation, wrote a detailed itinerary, researched the sights and sounds, packed our bags and hopped on plane to sanfrancisco.

i'm pretty spontaneous, but my partner in crime took it to a whole other level. which is ironic because she is often my voice of reason in the office. the phrase "emily, don't do/say that... you're gonna get fired" crosses her lips on a weekly basis. she's the kind of friend who will convince you it's OK to still do shots when you're 26 then push you out on the dance floor at a dude-bro bar, she will inspire you to wear nail polish but make it acceptable not to shower before work (as long as you clean yourself up before happy hour), she will pound grape with you on a tuesday night then bring you a V8 from the vending machine the next morning at work to cure your hangover, but more importantly... she will close her eyes, point to a map and say "let's do this."

there are a ridiculous number of pictures (appropriate and inappropriate) and they are all awesome. so come over and i'll make whirley pop and we'll have a slide show. till then, i'll show you some highlights!

napa; nap; pay per view movie and dinner on our hotel beds

fisherman's warf; peir 39; hang out with the seals while eating famous gheridelli hot fudge sundaes; sound of music sing-a-long and drinks in the castro

rent bikes and bike along the bay and across the golden gate bridge; dinner out on the town; accidentally end up drunk on haight & ashbury;

Sunday

chug vitamin water; grab a shuttle; puke in the airport;
