my mother is a worrier. so am i.
and over the years we've learned the precise amount of information we need to tell each other without activating the overreacting button. a lot of the time questions tend to end with "i'm fine... fine, fine, fine." but we've also learned how to decipher each other's codes
so when i say...
"i can't wait for my next teeth cleaning"
what i really mean is...
"i think i have three cavities"
-or-
when my mother says...
"i'm so happy you're going to be home over the holidays this year, i could really use a hand decorating the house and cooking meals"
what she really means is...
"surprise, i'm getting a knee replacement right before christmas, i'm glad you're going to be here to help me learn how to walk again"
haha! i have a feeling it's going to be a little harder now that we live in the same house and i can't just lie to her over the phone. :) so here's to a very happy birthday to the woman who is always fine! words really cannot express how much i love her.
Happiest of Birthdays Kris!!!
