sorry ross, rachel & co. but i have the coolest friends.
it's been a week since megan and sundeep got hitched... twice... in one day. and i'm still floating from all the love and joy that radiated from everyone. the celebration last saturday has been 10 years in the making and it was worth every minute of the countdown. dubbed, #weddinginjune from tech savvy sundeep, guests and the wedding party were encouraged to tweet/facebook/blog during the ceremonies. the dichotomy between simultaneous ancient indian rituals and iphones was astonishing (but seemed strangely appropriate during mass). i don't have a tweet machine yet, so i took as many pictures as possible. the day was simply unreal. (also, long and required a mid-day rockford bar stop and nap) but mostly unreal and incredibly powerful. i was so proud of all my friends and so honored to be a part it.
ya know, just riding in on a white horse
and a dance party in the parking lot
...the usus.
breathtaking
i never knew 90 minutes of sanskrit could be so beautiful
you're shaping up to be pretty awesome. promotions, sunshine, weddings, road trips, playing house and long-awaited reunions. it's always a treat when i get to spend time with the family robinson. the generosity, the compassion and the zest for life that oozes out of this one family will astound you. not to mention i have laughed (& drank) more in the last 3 days than i have in the last 3 months.
with siblings like these, what could go wrong?
typical.
ugh. seriously! ... my abs hurt!
is this what it feels like when people do sit ups?
my other set of parents
we snuck her into bars when she was 14
and we did it again 5 years later
father robinson: don't you sometimes feel that this is the kind of life we were meant to live on this earth? everything we need, everything right here, right at our fingertips. you know, if only people could have all this and be satisfied, i don't know there'd be any real problems in the world
happy spring milwaukee! after the entire month of april being caught in a limbo of frost advisories and sunny skies, it's finally here! this weekend was beautiful! i spent yesterday volunteering at GROWING POWER and today was the first day of 2011 that it got above 75 degrees! i spent the day running errands to our coop and home depot with the windows down, enjoying the sunshine and most importantly... making happy birthday phone calls to a (newly relocated!) very good friend. also, my dad got a chance to set up the rain barrel we got my mom for her birthday last august. i snagged the barrel from lakefront brewery for $5! it used to house brown rice maltose and will now house rain water to be used for the backyard gardens... raspberries, strawberries, blackberries, tomatoes, rhubarb, and lots and lots of pretty flowers!
hurray for rain barrel installation!
and hurray for multi colored tomato cages!
today was also a good day to bring my worms up from the basement. i added some table scraps from a fruit salad i made, stirred 'em up and added some more friends. and yes, that is a frozen strawberry lemonade on the table ...from mcdonalds. don't judge... it's delicious.
